Ronald Duane Johnson, age 79, of St. Johns, Michigan formerly of Ithaca, Michigan died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, Michigan

A Memorial Service will be held at Ithaca Church of God, Ithaca, MI on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor John Jakus officiating.

Ronald was born in Ithaca, Michigan on February 1, 1936, the son of Robert Henry and Minnie Frances (Miller) Johnson. He graduated from Ithaca High School.  He served his country in the US Army.  On April 2, 1956 Ronald married Beverly Vaughn who preceded him in death in 1999.  He worked for Dean Transportation driving the RESA bus in St. Johns area.  Ron resided most of his life in the Gratiot and Clinton Counties. He was a member of Grace Chapel Church.  Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, camping and reading but most of all telling jokes.

He is survived by 4 daughters; Robin and Bill Lohrer, Ronda Johnson, Brenda and Lynn Bradley, Stephanie and Mark Thomas, 4 sons; Brian and Juanita Johnson, Carl and Catherine Johnson, Ron Johnson Jr., Chad and Jen Johnson, 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Barbara Coe, Sharon Johnson, and Sandy Fountain, 1 brother Robert and Sharon Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, wife Beverly, grandson Joshua Lohrer, and great grandson Chase Johnson.
