Ronnie "Ron" Davis

Ronnie Davis, age 72, of Ithaca, Michigan, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Karmanos Cancer Institute, Detroit, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Ithaca United Methodist Church, Ithaca, Michigan on Sunday, February, 7, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Cindi Green, Pastor Thomas Ball, and Pastor Gary Simmons officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI.

Ron was born in Pruden, Tennessee on February 24, 1943, the son of Charles and Mary Lee (Powers) Davis.  Ron graduated from Jackson High School with the class of 1960.  He served his country in the U.S. Army.  On May 18, 1984 Ron married Janet J. Block in Ithaca, Michigan.  Ron was a maintenance supervisor at Oldsmobile retiring in 2006.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his grandchildren very much. Ron was a member of Ithaca United Methodist Church and he gave a lot of time to Ashley and Ithaca sports boosters, meals on wheels, and the Commission on Aging.

He is survived by his wife Janet J. Davis of Ithaca, MI, children; Tammie Davis, Elizabeth and Gary Strpko, Kelly and Pastor Tom Ball, Jill Densmore, Paula and Brent Baldwin, Kim and LuAnn Diffin, Gary and Julie Moore, Christopher Helms, 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Polly Edwards, Ernie and Bob Raymond, Connie and Yong McDowell, brother, Homer and Ruthmarie Davis.  He was predeceased by his parents, and daughter Terry.
