Rose Fabus, age 84, of Elsie, Michigan died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, Michigan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Marcel Portelli officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 12 to 8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel, Elsie, MI. Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 6:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
Rose was born in Elsie, Michigan on May 7, 1928, the daughter of John and Mary (Koutnik) Winkler. She graduated from Elsie High School and resided all of her life in the Elsie area. On July 5, 1947 Rose married Tony Fabus Sr. at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister. Tony died on May 17, 2004. Rose was a homemaker who loved working in her flower garden, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Rose is survived by 2 daughters; Rosemary and John Houska of Elsie, MI, Mary Ann and John Davidson of Lansing, MI, daughter in law Toni Fabus of Owosso, MI, 3 sons; Stephen and Marcia Fabus of Elsie, MI, Michael and Kim Fabus Sr. of Elsie, MI, Matthew Fabus of Elsie, MI, her grandchildren; Jason and Michelle Houska, Marcie and Steve Scott, Lindsay and Ervin Garcia, Ashley Davidson, Casey Davidson and Rachel Bogle, Lynn and Mitch Ferris, Ryan and Pamela Fabus, Nickolas and Hillary Fabus, Jacob and Michelle Fabus, Michael and Katie Fabus Jr., Mitchell and Taylor Fabus, Kaitlyn Fabus, Michaela Fabus, Matthew (MJ) Fabus Jr., Paige Patrick, great grandchildren; Ashley, Jordan, Alex, Dominic, Joanna, Abigayle, Jenifer, Samantha, Austin, Blake, Chase, Jacob, Brady, Cade, Lauren, Caroline, Liam, Zach, 1 sister Josephine Hain, and 1 brother Frank & Geraldine Winkler Sr. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Tony, son Tony Jr. and 7 brothers & sisters.
