Rosemary Rebecca Andersen, age 87, of Bannister, MI passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Rosemary was born in Middleton, Michigan on November 25, 1923, the daughter of Earl and Cora (Loudenbeck) Howell. She graduated from Maple Rapids High School. Rosemary married Howard Carl Andersen on October 19, 1946 in Olympia, WA. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1995. Rosemary served in the U.S. Marines in WW II. Rosemary was a homemaker. She worked on the election committee for many years, enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, and was an avid reader. Rosemary loved spending family time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Fenmore Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Howard "Dick" and Laurel Andersen of Ashley, MI, daughter Joann and Kent Kremer of Saginaw, MI, daughter Deann and Alan Spriggs of Elsie, MI, daughter Christine and Ed Powers of Bath, MI, son Timothy and Debra Andersen of Shepherd, MI, daughter Lisa Andersen of Bannister, MI, daughter Cynthia and George Sholtz of Plato, MO, 27 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ardis Howell, a son, and 2 granddaughters Rachel and Brandy.
