Rosemary Ornelas

     Rosemary Ornelas, age 79, of Ovid, MI, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Dimondale Nursing Care Center, Dimondale, MI.

      Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Ovid, 301 S. Main St., Ovid, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 with Pastor Tim Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI. Visitation will begin at noon prior to the service at the church.

    Rosemary was born in Ithaca, MI on April 27, 1944, the daughter of Edward and Maria (Luna) Ornelas. She lived most of her life in the Ovid area.

    Rosemary was a traveler. She walked every day; the highlight was walking the Mackinaw Bridge annually for many years with her sister Emma and other family members. She liked celebrating family members' birthdays. Rosemary loved to play board games, especially Yahtzee. She was a good cook; her family enjoyed her tortillas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ovid and enjoyed singing the hymns. Rosemary loved people and made friends wherever she went.

     Rosemary is survived by her sister Emma Gordoa, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Eddie Ornelas, Helen Martinez, Eliseo Ornelas, Oscar Ornelas, Anita Kiter, Alfred Ornelas, and Josephine Sheldon;
