Roy Lynn Anderson, age 82, of Durand, MI formerly residing in Pontiac, MI for 12 years passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center, Flint, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor William C. Bramlet will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 17, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Monday May 18, 2009 from 11 AM until the time of service at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel, Corunna, MI.

Roy was born on March 7, 1927 in Chalybeate Springs, Alabama the son of William C. and Sallie C. (Voss) Anderson. Roy married Jeanette Brewer on August 3, 1953 in Angola, IN. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and resided most of his life in Durand, MI. Roy retired from General Motors in 1989 from the GMSPO plant in Swartz Creek. He enjoyed gardening and farming. Roy was a founding member of Faith Baptist Church of Durand where he was very active. Roy was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette Anderson of Durand, MI, daughter Starla Newman of Owosso, MI, son Mark and Bonnie Anderson of East Lansing, MI, daughter Suzie and John Hankerd of Elsie, MI, son Eric and Kim Anderson of Grand Blanc, MI, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Lona Darnell of Davison, MI, Geri Campbell of Keego Harbor, MI, sister-in-law Mirl Anderson of Clifford, MI by many niecs & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Gary Anderson, brother Loyal Anderson, sister Marjorie Bell, sister Sue Brazelle, and brother Duane Anderson.
