Roy J. Bennett age 75 of St. Louis, Michigan died Monday, July 26, 2004 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan.
A Private Graveside Service will be held. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan. There will be no Visitation.
Roy was born on July 6, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Roy F. & Nin M. ( Fouch ) Bennett. He attended Detroit Area Schools. He married Barbara Ann Nutter on December 29, 1970 in St. Louis, MI. Roy served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was employed as a manager of Bottom Brothers/White Rose service station for many years. He also worked for St. Louis Schools in the maintenance department, and retired from there after several years. He loved fishing and woodworking. He was a life member of St. Louis VFW Post # 1455. He resisded most of his life in St. Louis, MI.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Bennett of St. Louis, MI., 2 children, Julie K. & Hans Anderson of Riverdale, MI., Roy J. & Cammy BennettIII of Alma, MI., 2 stepchildren, Brian Northrup of St. Louis, Karen & Kevan Stahl of Grand Rapids, MI., 10 grandchildren, Odin, Enon, & Aron Anderson, Cheyenne, Samantha, Jasmine, & Triston Bennett, Nathan Northrup, Rachael & David Miller, Jacob Stahl, sister, Elenanore Booth, brother William Bennett, sister Mary Myatt. He is predeceased by his parents and 1 brother Gwaine.
Memorials may be made to Gratiot County Animal Shelter. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
