Roy Fredrick Small Sr. age 71, of Owosso, MI died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center, Durand, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Marlene Webster will officiate and burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.
Roy was born in Irionton, Ohio on May 11, 1937, the son George F. and Betsy (Pyles) Small. He resided most of his life in Owosso, Michigan and graduated from Cole Grove High School and took classes at John Wesley College. Roy married Patricia Delawder on November 26, 1958. She passed away on March 19, 2008. He worked as a dispatcher on the Ann Arbor Rail Road before retiring in 1980. Roy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by children; Dr. Roy and Brenda Small of Chesaning, MI, James and Leslie Small of Owosso, MI, Rachel and Cary Husted of Laingsburg, MI, 8 grandchildren; Britney, Jessica, Monica, Chelsea, Roy, Kelly, Joshua, and Hollie, great grandson Daniel, and 2 sisters Sue Campbell of Ohio and sister Dottie Shore of Ohio. He is predeceased by his parents, wife Patricia Ann Small, and 1 son Russell Small on July 25, 1981.
