She attended school there, played coronet in the high school band, was a member of the Glee Club and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1944. On July 5, 1944 she married Arland Carter. They lived in Wheeler, Michigan until 1957 when they bought the farm in the Crystal area. She is survived by three sisters, Martha Post of Breckenridge, Mary (Bill) Horvat of Sanford and Susie (Larry) Huntoon of Breckenridge, seven children, Mike of Breckenridge, Ed (Kathryn) of Montara, California, Marcie, Wes (Mary), Kelly, Perry and Todd, all of Crystal, thirteen grandchildren, Tammy, Darin, Nicholas, Anthony, Will, Kacie, John, Garrett, Chris, Gabe, Taylor, Hollie and Joe, seven great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and special employee Jake Weber. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters Lula Prahin, Virginia Stowitz and Nancy Phillips, her brother, Bill Posey and her daughter-in-law Carla. Ruby's life consisted of her love to sing, to listen and dance to Country and Polka music, garden, sew, hang laundry on the line, frequent yard sales, auctions and resale shops, visit with her sisters and brother, dote over the grand and great grandchildren and cook and bake wonderful meals for her family. Ruby loved walking around the yard looking at all her flowers, her favorites being violets and peonies, even picking a flowering weed to put in a glass on the kitchen table. She helped around the farm doing pretty much anything she set her mind to. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and was very strong willed.
