Ruby Parks

Ruby Elizabeth Parks age 102, of Owosso, formerly of Elsie MI, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017, at Oliver Woods-Retirement Home, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Rob Nystrom officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Ruby was born in Paxton, IL on June 9, 1915, the daughter of Walter and Celia (Timmons) Mitchell.  She married Wade Parks on August 3, 1962.

Ruby retired from Universal Electric Company after many years of service. She was an excellent seamstress. Her favorite hobbies were quilting, crocheting and knitting. She knit hats, gloves, and scarves for WWII soldiers. Later on in life reading became her passion. She also spent time doing puzzles and crossword puzzles. Ruby was a long time member of the Elsie United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughters; Leah and Herbert White of Swartz Creek, MI, Donna Jolly of Ovid, MI, 6 grandchildren; Laurie Webber, Delores and Doug Mole, James Jolly, Gerald Jolly Jr., Carl and Rhonda Jolly, Kristie and Brian Howell, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and sister Myra Devereaux of California. She is also survived by special Parks family members.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Leonard on May 5, 1952, sons in law; Gerald Jolly and Sherman Jarrell, grandson Craig Jarrell, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
