Ruby was a lifelong member of Pilgrim United Methodist Church in St. Johns. She prayed and read her Bible daily, and loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. A devoted housewife and mother, she spent nearly 80 years on a farm on Jason Road in DeWitt. She and Glenn enjoyed several years bowling with friends in St. Johns. They wintered in central Florida for many years during their retirement, playing golf and shuffleboard. Ruby also enjoyed oil painting, gardening, singing, sewing, crocheting, researching family history, reading books, playing her computer games, puzzle games, and especially the twice weekly game nights with her family. She taught her family the Golden Rule and practiced it every day of her life. She was always willing to help any of her many friends with a beautiful smile.
Ruby's family will receive friends on Friday, September 19 at the Osgood Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, at Pilgrim United Methodist Church in St. Johns (DeWitt and Parks Roads), with a graveside service immediately afterwards at South Bingham Cemetery. A meal will follow at the church for her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Pilgrim Church or Sparrow Hospice in her memory.
