Ruby Leone Starry, age 84, of Alma, MI passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Louis Church of Christ., with Mr. Keith Wise officiating.
Ruby was born in Carson City, Michigan on December 13, 1929, the daughter of Leonard and Cornelia (Van Beelen) Mailand. She graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1947. Ruby married Maynard R. Starry on July 13, 1969; he preceded her in death on October 16, 1996. She was a lifelong resident of Gratiot County. Ruby was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI.
Ruby is survived by 7 children; Katherine Betzold of Alma, MI, Donald and Cheri Rice of Rudyard, MI, Sue Ann and David Smith of St. Louis, MI, Marcia and Fred Starkey of Stafford, VA, Roger and Shirley Rice of Alma, MI, David and Kathy Rice of Kentwood, MI, Nancy and Doug Marr of Colma, MI, 3 stepchildren; Michael and Kathy Starry of Alma, MI, Deborah and Bill Daman of St. Johns, MI, Donna Clark of Waterford, MI, 3 sisters; Mary Pencak of Greenville, MI, Corky and Orrin Hoxey of Alma, MI, Joy Flegal of Alma, MI, brother Leonard and Beverly Mailand of St. Johns, MI, sister in law Inabeth and Herm Bratfish of Roscommon, MI, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maynard, 7 brothers and sisters, and in-laws.
