Russel Schoch

Russel D. (Butch) Schoch, age 77, of Elsie, Michigan died Friday, August 28th, 2015 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Tuesday, September 1st at 11:00 A.M. , Mr. Thomas Bradley will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie Michigan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday 6-8 P.M. and on Monday, August 31, 2015, 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, Michigan.

Russ was born in Owosso, Michigan on December 19, 1937, the son Russel T. and Agnes (Keys) Schoch. Butch graduated from Chesaning High School with the class of 1956 and on May 19, 1962 he married Emelie Yvonne Bartek in Bannister, Michigan. He resided most of his life in Elsie, Michigan.

Russ owned Schoch's Service in Elsie for many years and served many farmers in the area. He also farmed and he was a pilot and enjoyed flying very much. Butch served his community as a former member of the Elsie Fire Department, Ambulance Service, and former board member of Duplain Township.

He is survived by his wife, Emelie Schoch, 2 daughters, Susanne and Harold Sawyer, Brenda and Keith Shaw, 2 sons, Mark Schoch, Douglas and Tamara Schoch, 5 grandchildren, Michael Sawyer, Calley Sawyer, Ross Shaw, Kyle Shaw, Joshua Schoch, brother, Dale and Hazel Schoch, 2 sisters, Lucille and Jim Price, Marion Lash.

He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters, Fran Wise and Ruth Hemenway
