Russell E. Kaufman age 83 of Alma, Michigan died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Wilcox Heathcare Center, Alma, Michigan
Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
Russell was born in Breckenridge, Michigan on November 13, 1924 the son of Lester and Edith ( Horton ) Kaufman. He resided most of his life in Breckenridge, Alma and St. Louis, Michigan and graduated from Breckenridge High School. Russell married Elaine Adams on August 11, 1950 in St. Louis, MI. She preceded him in death on December 5, 1990. He then married Margery Rierson on August 12, 1991. He retired from Detroiter Mobil Homes. Russell enjoyed gardening, and taking walks. In the past he attended St. Louis First Bapist Church. Russell served his country in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by wife Margery Kaufman of Alma, Michigan, 3 children; Deborah & Gordon Williams of Perkins, OK, Janice Peterson of Gaylord, MI, Barbara & Leland ( Doug ) Shattuck of Morley, MI, 3 step children; Donald Hetzman of Alma, MI, Paul & Kathy Hetzman of St. Louis, MI, Laura & Lon VanSickle of Perrinton, MI, 10 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Martha, Evelyn & Rhea, and 2 brothers; Leonard & Paul. He is predeceased by his parents, wife Elaine, son Ronald Russell Kaufman, grandson Scott Shattuck on October 12, 1997, brother Paul Kaufman & stepsonLarry Hetzman.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
