Ruth Elizabeth Foster age 90 of Ithaca, Michigan died Monday July 16, 2007 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, Michigan.

Memorial Services will be held at United Methodist Church Ithaca, MI on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Steve Young will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Ruth was born in North Star, Michigan on September 24, 1916 the daughter of Charles and Margaret ( Rockwell ) Hawk. She was a lifelong resident of Ithaca, MI and graduated from St. Louis High School. Ruth married Kenneth Foster in Indiana on May 16, 1947. She was a homemaker and she also taught Bishop Sewing Classes. She loved sewing, crocheting, and tatting. She also loved flower and vegetable gardening. Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ithaca, MI where she belonged to the Ladies Circle. She was active in the Commission on Aging, Food for Friends, as well as a former 4-H leader and a judge at the Gratiot County 4-H Fair for Youth.

She is survived by 3 daughters; Dolores Marie & Bill Irani of Linden, MI, Deborah Anne & Raymond Bihun of Beverly Hills, MI, Denise Louise Saxe of Cary, NC, 6 grandchildren; Shelley Langton, C. Mark Irani, Alyssa Sherwin, Matthew Bihun, Ted Bihun, Samantha Saxe, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters; Ann & Sam Miscisin of Sterling, MI, and Marie Bare of Ithaca, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 sister Vera Jones, and 1 brother Charles Hawk.

Memorials may be made to Commission on Aging. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
