Ruth Greening

Ruth Elizabeth "Bette" Greening, age 89, of St. Louis, MI died Monday, February 7, 2011 at Schnepp Health Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Terri Bentley will officiate. Burial will take place at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Bette was born in St. Louis, Michigan on January 29, 1922, the daughter of Ira and Dora (Dean) Comstock. She graduated from St. Louis High School. Bette married Robert D. Greening on August 4, 1945. He passed away September 27, 1991. Bette was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, and enjoyed traveling and sewing. She worked at St. Louis Creamery, Detroiter Mobile Homes, Best Time Tours, and she and Robert were co-owners of Double G Coaches.

She is survived by her daughter Beverly and Phil Morton of St. Louis, MI, son James and Shirley Greening of St. Louis, MI, son Richard Greening of Alma, MI, daughter Debra and Chuck Oatten of St. Louis, MI, grandchildren; Cam and Mike Spencer of Keego Harbor, MI, Michael and Allison Greening of Ypsilanti, MI, Zachary Greening and fiancAC.e Tiffany DeGarmo of Saginaw, MI, Christopher Greening of Alma, MI, Heather Greening of St. Louis, MI, Nicholas Morton of St. Louis, MI, sister Erma Stone of Lansing, MI, and brother Howard and Dolores Comstock of St. Louis, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, and brother Wayne Comstock.
