Ruth Rigg

Ruth A. Rigg, age 86 of Alma, Michigan passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Michigan Masonic Home in Alma. She worked for Commission on Aging and also Gratiot Community Hospital for 25 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate with burial at Salt River Cemetery, Isabella County, Coe Township, Michigan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-9 P.M. and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. There will also be an Eastern Star Service Wednesday evening at 7:30 P.M.
Ruth was born June 14, 1917 in Midland, Michigan, the daughter of Carl and Edna (Struthers) Girven. She was married to Chester Wale from 1939-1972, then she married Byron Rigg from 1981-1985. She was a member of St. Louis Church of Christ also a member of Eastern Star #98 for 40 years. She also volunteered at the Gratiot Senior Center. She enjoyed doing crafts of all types and loved to dance. She resided most of her life in Gratiot County.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Hall of Holt, MI, Jenny (Frank) Tamburello of Broadview Heights, OH, sister, Norma (Dale) Barker of Chelsea, MI, brother, Carl (Pat) Girven of Spokane, WA, sister, Marcia (Walter) Lueth of Midland, MI, 7 grandchildren, Gary Hall Jr., Tom Hall, Michael Hall, Amie Tamburello, Frank Tamburello, Steve Tamburello, and Kathie Blasko, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, both husbands, 1 son, Gene, and sisters, Dorothy Wickerham, Velma Switzer, and Helen Mills.
Memorials may be made to Gratiot Senior Center. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
