Ruth Willoughby

Ruth Marie Willoughby age 80 of Chesaning, Michigan died Monday, October 22, 2007 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Elsie United Methodist Church Elsie, MI on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate with burial at Cherry Grove Cemetery Clare, MI. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Ruth was born in Clare, Michigan on August 31, 1927 the daughter of Orvall Lloyd and Aleta Marie ( Detwiler ) Smith. She resided most of her life in Hemlock & Chesaning, Michigan and graduated from Chesaning High School with the class of 1945. Ruth married Roy Willoughby on May 15, 1948 at the Chapin United Methodist Church, Chapin, MI. She had worked for Universal Electric in Owosso, MI. Ruth loved to take wedding photos and work with her husband running Willoughby Photography for 45 years. Ruth was a Friend of Elsie United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Roy Willoughby of Chesaning, MI, and 2 sisters; Amy Lou Brandt of Saginaw, MI, and Mary Eunice & Earl Weeden of Elsie, MI. She is predeceased by her parents and 1 brother Lynn Leroy Smith.

Memorials may be made to Elsie United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
