Ruth I. Wischmeyer, age 85, of St. Louis, MI died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Schnepp Health Care Center in St. Louis with her family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 5-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes and also on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel.
Ruth was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on April 12, 1924, the daughter of Ois and Eva (Hoffer) Brown. She graduated from Perrinton High School with the class of 1941. Ruth married Neil Wischmeyer on March 1, 1947. Ruth had been a resident of St. Louis since 1960. She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She loved music, and played piano and guitar. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines for many years. Ruth and Neil enjoyed traveling to Florida, spending many winters there. Mostly she loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her husband Neil Wischmeyer of St. Louis, MI, 3 daughters; Linda Wolfe of Alma, MI, Karen and Randy Dietz of Ithaca, MI, Carol and Bob Minnick of Green Valley, AZ, 3 granddaughters; Rhonda Allen, Ranae and Chris Guerrero, and Elizabeth Dietz, 4 great grandchildren Trevor Allen, Grant Reynolds, Miranda Oswald, and Paige Wolfe, 3 brothers; Rockford and Kay Browne of Sumner, MI, Ois Browne Jr. of Ithaca, MI, Garold and Doris Browne of Ithaca, MI, and a sister Vivian and Gorden Green of Alma, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, son in law Ron Wolfe, and 2 sisters; Carm Meyers and Yvonne Foglesong.
