Sally Foreit

Sally Margaret Foreit age 96, of Elsie, MI, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Hospice of Mid Michigan, Lansing, Michigan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, Bannister, MI, on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Bill Gruden officiating.  Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, Michigan. Rosary will be prayed 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Sally was born in North Star, Michigan on August 17, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Lovas) Chmiko.  On November 8, 1941 Sally married George W. Foreit in Bannister, Michigan; George predeceased her on October 17, 1994.  Sally was a farmer’s wife and worked alongside her husband on the family farm. She was a member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, Bannister, Michigan.

She is survived by her 3 daughters; Karen Hornus of Corunna, MI, Diane and Terry Loznak of Elsie, MI, Kathy Foreit of LasVegas, NV, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister Carol Custer of Perrinton, MI, and brother John Chmiko of St. Johns, MI.  She was predeceased by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
