Sally Elaine Perry, age 66, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Pilgrim United Methodist Church, St. Johns, MI, on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Andy Croel officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.
Sally was born in Detroit, MI on June 29, 1953, the daughter of Ralph and Joyce (Barber) Whittaker. She graduated from Cass City High School and went on to Northwood University receiving her masters in business administration. Sally married Phillip Perry on October 15, 1983, at Woodview Nazarene Church, Dewitt, MI.
Sally retired from the State of Michigan. She enjoyed quilting, painting, basket weaving, crocheting, jewelry making, and flower gardening. She was very passionate about singing. Sally collected pottery and had a dish collection for every season. She made each of her grandchildren a quilt that was unique to each of them. She loved her dogs: Maddie, Daisy, and Gabby. She was a member of the Pilgrim United Methodist Church and the Women's Choir.
She is survived by her husband Phillip Perry, children: Heidi Ruppert and Pat McGee, Kyle and Denise Fullhart, Amy Jo and Robert Fraker, Eric Perry, Chad and Jessica Perry, grandchildren: Bob (Breanne) Fraker, Zachary (Mallory) Fraker, Tristen Perry, Olivia Ruppert, Griffin Perry, Eric Perry, Julia Ruppert, Makala Perry, Gavyn Perry, Hunter Wylie, Wyatt Fullhart, brother Dennis and Diana Whittaker, sister Diane and Jim Schweigert, brother Tim and Carolyn Whittaker, and sister Jeannie and Andy Altman. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Joyce Whittaker.
