Samantha Kay "Sam" Goodman age 26 of Waterford, Michigan passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, Michigan on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating.   Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery Holly, Michigan on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. Meet at the staging area at 10:15 A.M.

Samantha was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 21, 1990, the daughter of Benjamin Goodman and Karin Douglas.  Sam resided most of her life in Waterford, Michigan.

Sam served her country in the U.S. Navy.  She loved music and was very talented musically, writing and drawing.  Sam was an animal lover, especially cats.  She was athletic and played LaCrosse in high school.

Sam is survived by her father Ben Goodman of Waterford, MI, mother Karin Ughetti of Battle Creek, MI, sister Katherine Lee of Battle Creek, MI, brother Timmy Gurnee of Battle Creek, MI, Grandmother Stella and Carlyle Barnes Jr. of Lansing, MI, Grandmother Katherine Douglas of Allegan, MI, Aunt Morgan and Michael Paige of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Aunt Brandie and Greg Garner of Jefferson, GA, and Aunt Brenda and Jim Cressman of St. Johns, MI. She is also survived by other aunts, uncles and many, many cousins. Sam was preceded in death by her Grandfather Darold Goodman, Aunt Cherie Hiar and Great Grandfather Carlyle Barnes Sr.
