Samuel L. Stewart age 76 of Owosso, Michigan, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso, Michigan. He was retired from Johnson Controls in Owosso, Michigan.
Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
Samuel was born on July 11, 1928 in Cookeville, Tennessee the son of William Herschell & Edith Edna ( Lewis ) Stewart. He graduated from Corunna High School and resided most of his life in Owosso, Michigan. On January 7, 1961 he married Bernice McKinley in Vernon, Michigan she survives him.
Samuel was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Inchon Invasion, he also was a member of Owosso American Legion Post #57 and was a past commander of the post. He was also a member of the Owosso Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Stewart of Owosso, Michigan, 2 daughters, Shelley Purves & Steve Onstott of Owosso, Michigan and Sherry Warner & Neal Heathman of Ovid, Michigan, 2 grandsons Michael Bannister II & Daniel Warner, 2 sisters, Imogene Boles of Owosso, Michigan, Fern & Jim VanLuven of Chesaning, Michigan, 3 brothers, Clarence & Sarah Stewart of Tennessee, Kenneth & Dorothy Stewart of Corunna, Michigan, Lester & Ruth Stewart of Tennessee.
He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters Florence Smith & Viola Harmon. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donora�(TM)s choice in his memory.
