Sandra Rosemary (Belleville) Reeves of Ithaca, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2023, at the age of 84.

Funeral Services will be held at Ithaca United Methodist Church, Ithaca, MI, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Brian Wickes officiating.  Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Emerson Township, MI.  Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and again, on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.

Sandra was born on February 20, 1938, on a farm in Evart, Michigan to Graydon and Frances (Pratt) Belleville. When she was three years old they moved to Detroit, where her dad found work during the war. At age five her parents bought a farm west of Ithaca, where she attended the Lewis Country School. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1955, where she met her future husband and the love of her life. She and Clarence were married on October 15, 1955, at the Ithaca United Methodist Church.

Clarence was a farmer and they started their new life together in Emerson Township. Sandra was a dedicated farm wife and worked alongside her husband Clarence on the farm for over fifty years.  Sandra loved God, her family, and was a friend to all who knew her. She always puts others before herself. Sandra led a sewing club in 4-H, decorated cakes, was an excellent seamstress and homemaker. She will long be remembered for the “little loaves of bread,” she passed out on Halloween. Sandra shared her knowledge and skills of baking pies and cakes. She loved music, belonged to the Red Hat Society with her lady friends, and enjoyed a competitive game of Rummikub with her grandchildren. Winning at no cost!

Every summer Sandra welcomed a group of bike riders from “America by Bicycle” to use her home and yard as a “pit-stop”. This is something she looked forward to each year. She was known for her kind heart and helping others.

Sandra is survived by her four children, Michael (Jodie) Reeves of Ithaca, MI; Karen (Danny) Curtis of Carson City, MI; Andy Reeves (Brenda Hollabough) of Ithaca, MI; Thomas (Angela) Reeves of Ithaca, MI; her grandchildren: Benjamin, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Samuel, Jennie, Jamie, Jessica, Aaron, Cody, Andrea, Emily, Cody, Casey, Collin, Rachael, Hannah, Claire and twenty-nine-great-grandchildren; one sister Patricia (Alan) Hooper; sister-in-law Elaine (William) Donahoe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Carole.
