Sara Johnston

Sara Winifred Johnston, age 97, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

Cremation will take place and a Service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery Battle Creek, NE.

Sarah was born in Plainview, Nebraska on May 21, 1923, the daughter Leslie and Jessie (Leap) Cunningham. Sara married William Francis Johnston on May 25, 1943 in Meadow Grove NE. She was a homemaker and resided most of her life in Nebraska. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, St. Louis, MI.

She is survived by her son Gordon and Cindy Johnston of Key West, FL; grandchildren: Jill Johnston of Los Angeles, CA; Emily Johnston of Key West, FL; great-grandchildren Maya Davis and Eliana Davis and niece Linda and Vernon Recker of St. Louis, MI.  Sara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Judy Schacher and her son Dwight Johnston.
