Sarah L. Smith, age 72, of Corunna, MI passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at Brian's House in Davison, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Owosso, MI on Friday, January 30 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Randy Peterson will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 28, 2009 and Thursday January 29, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso. Burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, MI.
Sarah was born in Hutchison, Kansas on August 18, 1936, the daughter of Carter and Hazel (Buck) Larkin. Resided most of her life in Sand Lake, MI and attended Baker College in Flint. Sarah married Erwin Smith on July 5, 1952 in Sand Lake, MI. Sarah was a member of Ensley Baptist Church, Sand Lake, MI and affiliated with Calvary Baptist Church. Sarah was very talented in many crafts and making beautiful quilts & afghans. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. Her family and friends were a very important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband Erwin L. Smith of Corunna, MI, son John and Loretta Smith of Mt. Morris, MI, daughter Sharon and Randy Jensen of Corunna, MI, daughter Christine Allen of Henderson, MI, daughter Karen and Dwayne Nixon of Oakley, MI, son Stephen and Karen Smith of St. Augustine, FL, 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, cousins; Betty and Carl Molz of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lee Tinsher of Pueblo, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, and in-laws, Fred & Oleva Smith
