Scott James McCollum, age 47, of Alma, MI, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home with his daughter by his side after an 11 year battle with ALS.
In following Scott's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
Scott was born in Owosso, MI on October 5, 1973, the son of Clare and Frances (Ortiz) McCollum. He attended Alma Public Schools. Scott loved the out of doors, especially hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He enjoyed listening to rock music. Scott was a barber at State St. Barbershop in Traverse City. Most of all he loved his family and spending time together. He was a great father to his girls. Scott had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. He enjoyed making people laugh and smile. Scott loved with his whole heart. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, Ithaca, MI. He was faithful in praying each morning and strong in his faith.
Scott is survived by his mother Fran Anderson, father Clare McCollum, 2 daughters: Rayanna Davis of Mt. Pleasant, and Morgan McCollum of Lansing; 2 brothers: Bob Winn of Alma, and Roy McCollum of Shepherd; grandmother Senovia Ortiz of Alma, and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents.
