Scott Jeffrey Nicholas

     Scott Jeffrey Nicholas, age 63, of Ithaca, MI passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI.

     Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, with Kathryn Strouse officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.

     Scott, son of Keith LeRoy and Ruth Dottie Marie (Conklin) Nicholas, was born in St. Johns, Michigan on May 31, 1959. He graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 1977.  On January 1, 1983, Scott married Debra Kay Nieman at the First Congregational Church, St. Johns, MI. They were blessed with forty years of marriage.

     The most important thing in Scott's life was his family. He had an undying love for his wife, "Twinkie", and treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. Scott enjoyed the outdoors. You could usually find him sitting on the deck watching deer. A farmer at heart, he cherished working on the family farm. Wearing his "Daisy Dukes", he enjoyed creating beautiful things as a talented woodworker.

     Scott is survived by his wife Debra, four children: Christina (Robert) Nix of Harrison, Torrie (Nick) Sholty of St. Johns, Angel (Robert) Miller of Siler City, NC, and Brian (Ashley) Nicholas of Lawrenceville, GA.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Zachary, Adam, William, Dominique, Ryan, Garrett, Brady, and Parker; his sister Patricia (Terry) Parsley, his brother Timothy (Bonny) Nicholas, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Keith and Ruth Nicholas, his sister Jean (Duane) DeLong, and nephew Jeremy Nicholas.
