Scott Clifford Painter, age 48, of Wheeler, MI passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor David Mosser officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and Friday, July 5, 2013 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
Scott was born in Carson City, Michigan on July 13, 1964, the son of Clifford Leroy and Lois Grace (Kirkey) Painter. Scott was born and raised in the Alma/Wheeler area. He loved fishing and hunting. He was great athlete, and loved all sports. Scott worked for several tree trimming companies throughout the area. He enjoyed camping, swimming, and especially loved going to the Crystal Racetrack. Scott loved spending time with his grandkids and will be missed by his 2 dogs Zoey and Jade Marie. He attended Wheeler Free Methodist Church in Wheeler, MI.
He is survived by his mother Lois Painter of Wheeler, MI, 2 daughters; Amanda Painter of Crystal, MI, and Terra and Gary Bailey of Six Lakes, MI, 10 grandchildren; Dylan, Sean, Lukas, Adilyn, Makenna, Raena, Hunter, Anthony, Alianna, and Alyssa, brother Jeffrey and Brandi Painter of Elwell, MI, niece and nephews; Zakkrey, Zane, and Zoey, fiancée Joann Elliott of Wheeler, MI, stepdaughter Darcy and Louise Carrillo of St. Louis, MI, and stepson Gary Baker II of Sumner, MI. He was preceded in death by his father Clifford Leroy Painter, grandparents Alfred & Dorothy Kirkey, and Russell & Edna Painter.
