Scott Craig Parmelee

     Scott Craig Parmelee, age 66, of Pompeii, MI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center, Alma, Michigan.
      A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Larry Wonsey officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
     Scott was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 15, 1958, the son of Oren Charles and Janice Arlene (Burton) Parmelee. He graduated from Holt High School with the Class of 1976. On April 14, 1979, Scott married Shelia Kay Brown in Lansing, Michigan. They have been married forty-five years.
     Scott retired from General Motors in 2006 after 30 years of service. He then went on to work for Gratiot County Parks and Recreation for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and spending time with family and friends.
     He is survived by his wife Shelia Parmelee, daughter Jennifer Parmelee of Yankton, SD; son Scott Parmelee, of Yankton, SD; five grandchildren: Taylor (Brandon Hall) Parmelee, Emily Parmelee, Elicia Parmelee, Alex Parmelee, and Jaxon Parmelee: two great- grandsons: Brayson, and Camden; his brother Charlie (Deb) Parmelee, sister Laurie Leavitt, aunt Stevie (Keith) Ruppert, uncle Jack Burton, and many other family and friends; including his best friends: K.B. (Carolyn), Matt, and Chris. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Howie Parmelee.
