Shan Denise Dutton

     Shan Denise Dutton, age 69, of Maple Rapids, MI, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, MI.
     A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
     Shan was born in St. Johns, MI on June 18, 1955, the daughter of Eugene and Jean (Bennett) Dutton. She was a graduate of Fulton High School.
     Shan was always the caretaker to her family and family friends. She had the gift of always putting others before her. Shan loved to play Bingo and attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. She also loved going up north and will be remembered for all of her wonderful baked goods. Shan worked as a bartender and cook at the Maple Rapids Bar for many years. Everyone loved to go there to see her and would say her smile lit up the place. Her biggest joy was family cookouts and joyfully picking on one another. She was always the boss and her family lovingly knew that. Shan was a member of the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church.
     She is survived by her sons Nate Dutton and Joel Dutton both of Maple Rapids, MI; 4 grandchildren: Lauren, Jakub, Ricki, and Camron; her brother Larry Dutton of Grand Ledge, MI; sister Diane Barrett of Harrison, MI. Shan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Chris Dutton.
