Sharalyn June Monks, age 48, of Elsie, MI passed away Monday, May 18, 2009 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor William Stites will officiate. Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery Fairfield, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes and on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI.
Sharalyn was born in Owosso, Michigan on September 22, 1960, the daughter of Clifford and Pearl Marie (Champlin) Coon. She graduated from Ovid Elsie High School and resided most of her life in the Ovid-Elsie area. Sharalyn married Kenneth Monks on July 24, 1998 in Portland, Michigan. Sharalyn enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards. She also loved spending time with her granddaughter. She was a member of the Elsie Area Fire Department Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Monks of Elsie, MI, son Brian Coon of Elsie, MI, daughter Brandelyn Coon of Elsie, MI, son Corey Helmer of Elsie, MI, granddaughter Shylyn Coon, parents; Clifford and Judy Coon of Marcellus, MI, Marie and Doug VanDusen of Ovid, MI, mother-in-law Ann Goodwin of Portland, MI, sister Alisha Royston of Jackson, MI, brother Phillip Coon of Torch Lake, MI, brother David Coon of Ovid, MI, sister DeeDee and Al Howard of Ovid, MI, and sister Kim Coon of Elsie, MI. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Bernie Goodwin, brother Mike Coon, and grandparents Coon & Champlin.
