Sharon Criner

Sharon B. Criner, 78, of Ovid, MI, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 3:00 P.M., with Pastor Kathy Murphy officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Sharon was born in Laingsburg, MI on May 28, 1941, the daughter of Clayton A. and Florence E. (Crane) Peters. She attended Owosso Public Schools.  Sharon married Jerry Roy Criner on August 3, 1973 in Owosso, MI.  They celebrated nearly 45 years of marriage prior to his death July 19, 2018.  She was employed as a Pharmacy Technician with Memorial Healthcare Pharmacy for 28 years.

Sharon enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping, and dancing with the love of her life, Jerry. She was an avid reader. Sharon loved her pets. She liked cooking, having big family dinners, and spending time with her family. Sharon was a passionate shopper and was a QVC "Preferred Customer."

Sharon is survived by her children: Clayton Prikasky and Karla Alley of Ovid, MI; Joseph Prikasky of East Lansing, MI; and Holly and Gregg Criner of Ovid, MI; step-son Gary (Robert) Criner of Ovid, MI; grandchildren: Dan and Beth Craig, Amber and Gary Brown, Katlynn Criner and D'Andre Baker, Nichole and Dustin Sowle, and Kevin Alley; 8 great-grandchildren: Savannah, Carissa, Prestyn, Elise, Elliott, Braedyn, Dexter, and Karlea; brother Donald (Pat) Peters; and many nieces and nephews.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Criner, and siblings: Jim Peters, Gerald Peters, Marie Davis, Danny Peters, and Mike Peters.
