Sharon Houlden

Sharon Sue Houlden, age 70, of Breckenridge, MI passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her home with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor George Showers will officiate. Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery Ithaca, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Sharon was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 4, 1942, the daughter of Wilbur D. and Inez V. (Myers) Collison. She married Larry M. Houlden on April 28, 1962 in Ithaca, MI. Sharon worked for attorney Jack Arnold as a legal secretary, Alma Products, and spent the rest of her career working as a Public Relations and Fund Development Coordinator at Gratiot Community Hospital until retiring in 2000. Sharon loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She volunteered at Ithaca South Elementary helping children read and also enjoyed attending horse races with her family, playing golf, and flower gardening.

Sharon is survived by her husband Larry Houlden of Breckenridge, MI, 2 daughters; Debbie and Rick Becker of Ithaca, MI, Mary Jo and Jeff Winans of Ithaca, MI, mother Inez Collison of Alma, MI, 5 grandchildren; Zachary Becker, Heather Becker, Morgan Gantz, Ryan Gantz, and Courtney Gantz, and brother Tom and Carol Collison of Perrinton, MI. She was preceded in death by her father.
