Sharon Rose Mosher

        Sharon Rose Mosher, age 78, of Ovid, Michigan, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Ingham County Medical Care Center, Okemos, Michigan. 

       A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Johns Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1400 South Oakland Street, St. Johns, MI, 48879, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 2:00 P.M.  Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI.

     Born in Edmore, MI to Carl Bruce and Laura Maxine (Stevenson) Mosher on May 19, 1945, Sharon’s first home was the boys' dormitory at Cedar Lake Academy where her father was the dean. 

     At the age of five, Sharon was among the first dozen children to receive corrective open heart surgery in the U.S. When she was seventeen, Sharon was in an automobile accident. Her injuries led to neck surgery when she was twenty. These early medical experiences sparked her interest in nursing. After graduating from Grand Ledge Academy in 1964, Sharon earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in nursing from Andrews University in 1970. 

     Sharon began her 40 year nursing career in Manchester, Kentucky. She then was a public health nurse in Ionia County, Michigan, and worked nineteen years at Sparrow Hospital.  Sharon was a practicing private nurse in Ovid, Michigan before retiring.

     Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by two brothers, Robert (Marijane) Mosher of Haslett, Michigan, David (Misako) Mosher of Hiroshima, Japan, foster sister Kelly Donaldson Hohlen of Grand Island, NE, ten nieces and nephews, and four great-nieces and nephews.
