Sharon Lee Speck

     Sharon Lee Speck, age 78, of Belding, MI, was promoted to Glory, Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Mission Point of Belding.
     A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, St. Johns, MI, at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, September 6, 2024, with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. Visitation will be held at 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.
     Sharon was born in Flint, Michigan on March 19, 1946, the daughter of Kenneth Edwin and Ruth Marie (Fortune) Metcalfe. She graduated from Flint Central High School with the Class of 1964. On June 18, 1966, Sharon married John W. Speck at Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Wyoming, Michigan. They have been blessed with fifty-eight years of marriage.
     Sharon's faith was the foundation of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in St. Johns and Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville. Sharon loved her family and devoted her life to them. The births of her children and grandchildren, as well as their achievements, were the highlights of her life.
     Sharon had a love for life, a wonderful whit, and an infectious sense of humor. She played piano, sang in the church choir, and accompanied school musicals. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and a variety of craft projects. She was active in Big Sisters and a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary. Sharon was also a secretary for State Farm Insurance for 15 years.
     She is survived by her husband John, daughter Kristil (William) Semrau, and son Matthew (Wendy) Speck, five grandchildren: Natasha (Tanner), Evan (Lydia), Rachel, Brandon, and Olivia; Faith King and her cousin Marsha Heimberger. She was preceded in death by her parents.
