Sharon VanTilburg

Sharon Denise VanTilburg, age 61 of Bath Michigan passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, Lansing, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home, Elsie, MI on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M., with Mrs. Margaret Horak officiating.  Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00-1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sharon was born in Ann Arbor, MI on November 11, 1954, the daughter of Clarence and Shirley (Harvey) Luckhardt.  She resided most of her life in Lansing, MI and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lansing.  Her life was devoted to her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed cooking and riding motorcycles.  Sharon earned a Master’s Degree from Davenport University.

Sharon is survived by her mother Shirley Bogan of Bath, MI, father Clarence and Helen Luckhardt of Romulus, MI, 2 sons; Christopher and Cathie VanTilburg of Lansing, Gregory VanTilburg of Leslie, MI, daughter Ashleigh VanTilburg and Greg Rupprecht of Leslie, MI, 2 grandchildren; Christopher Hennigan and Brody Rupprecht, 2 sisters; Linda and Darell Loar of Clare, MI, Kathy and Bruce McAttee of Bath, MI, step-sister Elaine and Tim Moulder of St. Simons Island, GA, and several nieces and nephews.  Sharon was preceded in death by her brother Ken Luckhardt and her grandparents.
