Shirley Clark

Shirley M. Clark, age 77, of Westland, MI passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Shirley was born in Barre, Vermont on April 23, 1932, the daughter of Alfred and Signe (Matsen) Smith. She earned her R.N. from Henry Ford Nursing School and worked as an OB Nurse for 52 years, retiring from St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. She enjoyed horse races, horseback riding, square dancing, but mostly spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lexington.

She is survived by her children; Diane (Jim) Andrews of St. Johns, MI, Steve (Lilet) Clark of Redmon, CA, Sue (Fernando) Luna of Lexington, KY, Beth Clark of Westland, MI, grandchildren; Jennifer (Geoff) Andrews, Angie Andrews, Travis (Meghan) Myas, Lea Mulan Clark, and Mickey Clark, 5 great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary (Harry) German of Belding, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara Defina, and two brothers, Stan and Al Smith.
