Shirley Mae Cleland, age 74, of Bannister, MI passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Mona Dye will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Home Cemetery, Greenbush Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday June 27, 2011 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
Shirley was born in St. Johns, Michigan on February 28, 1937, the daughter of Howard and Florence (Hopkins) Kieffer. She resided most of her life in Shepardsville and Bannister, MI.
In September of 1974 she married Gerald Cleland, he passed away in 1994. Shirley was a member of the Bannister United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Shirley also enjoyed going out for car rides in the country.
She is survived by her son Bill and Joy Wreggelsworth of Elsie, MI; daughter Kim DeLong of Ovid, MI; son Ed and Rose Wreggelsworth of Owosso, MI; son Mike and Andrea Wreggelsworth of Middleton, MI; son Mark Wreggelsworth of Owosso, MI; step daughter Barbara Brubaker of Owosso, MI; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother Walter Kieffer of St. Johns, MI; sister Arlene Sigafoose of Bannister, MI; brother Howard and Barb Kieffer of Ovid, MI; sister-in-law Bernadine Kieffer of St. Johns, MI; brother-in-law Richard Young of Ovid, MI.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters Annie Young & Barbara McNitch also a brother Richard Kieffer.
