Shirley A. Johnson age 78 of Ithaca, Michigan died Friday, September 23, 2005 at Pine River Health Care in St.Louis, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca chapel. Pastor David McBride will officiate
and burial will take place at the Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, Michigan.
Shirley was born in Detroit, MI on November 1, 1926 the daughter of Paul & Leona (McNitt) Crane. On September 18, 1948 she married Carl Johnson in Centerline, Michigan and she resided most of her life in Ithaca. Shirley was a homemaker and a wonderful mother who loved her family. She liked to play cards, and enjoyed spending many winters in Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Johnson of Ithaca, Michigan, 4 children, Gary & Linda Johnson of Alma, Michigan, Charlene Johnson of DeWitt, Michigan, Paula & Lee Gotcher of Perry, Michigan, James Johnson of Lansing, Michigan, 3 grandchildren, Timothy Johnson of Alma, Michigan, Kristina & Jeremiah Peace of West Branch, Michigan, Matthew Johnson of Alma, Michigan, 1 great granddaughter Rowen Peace and 1 sister, Paula & William Cox of St. Johns, Michigan. She was predeceased by her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
