Shirley Selfridge

Shirley Ann Selfridge, age 76, of Ovid, MI passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at her home with her family.

A gathering of family & friends will be held on Thursday August 30, 2012 from 4-6 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 P.M. Barb Henning will officiate.

Shirley was born in Owosso, Michigan on October 18, 1935, the daughter of Clyde William and Gertrude Electa (Campbell) Coleman. She was a graduate of Morrice High School and resided most of her life in Ovid. Shirley married Orville Selfridge on February 11, 1956 in Morrice, MI.

Shirley liked to go camping in the U.P. with her husband, paint, bowl, listen to music and she enjoyed the outdoors. She loved going to her grandchildren's sporting & school events. Shirley was proud of her Irish heritage. Family get together brought her much joy.

She is survived by her husband Orville Selfridge of Ovid, MI, 4 daughters; Suzanne Sherman of Maple Rapids, MI, Julayne and Charles Paddock of Ovid, MI, Sherri Hartman of Ovid, MI, Brenda and Jim Nalett of Laingsburg, MI, 6 granddaughters; Holly (Paul), Sara (Matt), Christine, Laura, Haley and Leah, and 2 great-grandchildren; Dakota and Chloe. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Jessica, 3 brothers & 2 sisters.
