Shirley V. (Vere) Sutliff, age 79, of Owosso, Michigan died Saturday, November 26th, 2011 at Shiawassee County Medical Center, Corunna, Michigan
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Wednesday, November 30th at 11:00 A.M. Burial at Ridge Road Cemetery Oakley, MI. Pastor John Walworth will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday and Tuesday 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, Michigan.
Vere was born in Owosso, Michigan on April 18, 1932, the son of R.D. and Irene J. (Thompson ) Sutliff. On August 12, 1967, he married Delores A. (Behm) Suggs. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post #502. Vere retired as an inspector from GM Truck & Bus after 34 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Delores Sutliff of Owosso, MI; daughter, Pamela Gadwa of Howell, MI; daughter, Michelle and Joseph Tortorici of Rochester Hills, MI; son, Grady and Kimberly Suggs of Chesaning, MI; son, Michael and fiancee Barbie Sutliff of Lansing, MI; son, Brian and Lynette Suggs of Owosso, MI; daughter, Kimberly and Rick Allen of Hayward, WI; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brother, Robert and Sheryl Sutliff of Middlebury, FL; brother, Marion and Betty Sutliff of Chesaning, MI; sister, Donna Schlachter of Grand Rapids, MI; brother, Wayne and Cheryl Sutliff of Henderson, MI; sister, Diane and James Apsey of Corunna, MI; sister, Linda and Michael Wiley of Owosso, MI, numerous nieces and nephews, and special family friend, Barb McKone of Corunna, Michigan.
Vere was preceded in death by his parents, son, Leslie Vere Sutliff, brother, Lee Sutliff and grandson, David Gadwa.
