Sophie Strnad

Sophie Strnad age 91 of Bannister, Michigan died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Thomas Bradley will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 4-8 P.M.

Sophie was born in East Chicago, Illinois on May 30, 1916 the daughter of Michael and Mary ( Sosoko ) Tupica. She resided most of her life in Bannister, Michigan. Sophie married Charles Strnad on July 3, 1939 in Rochester Colony, MI. He died on February 25, 1988. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed her flower garden, baking and going to the casino. Sophie was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge #225.

She is survived by 1 daughter Helen & John Granger of Burt, MI, 2 sons; Carl & Lynn Strnad of Bannister, MI, Dan & Robin Strnad of Bannister, MI, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 4 sisters; Mary, Ann, Helen, and Julia and 1 brother Mike.

Memorials may be made to ZCBJ Lodge #225 or WOES Radio at OE Schools. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
