Spencer S. Wiltsee age 82 of Bannister, Michigan, died Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Carson City Hospital, Carson City, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel, on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Ralph Parkin will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2005 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Spencer was born in Hammond, Indiana on April 22, 1923 the son of Loren Arthur & Helen ( Smith ) Wiltsee. He resided most of his life in the Bannister & Elsie areas, and he graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1941. On December 31, 1955 he married Edna Spiekerman in Boyne City, Michigan. He retired from General Motors, Fisher Body Plant, Lansing, in 1973 after 30 years of service, he also farmed. Spencer was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Elsie, Michigan and he also served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II in Europe. His grandchildren were very special to him and he also enjoyed his animals on the farm.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Wiltsee of Bannister, Michigan, 1 son Kurt & LaDawn Wiltsee of Elsie, Michigan, 3 granddaughters, Heather & Jason Watson of Bannister, Michigan, Maureen & Jennifer Wiltsee of Elsie, Michigan, and 1 great grandson, Hunter. He was predeceased by his parents & his wonderful grandmother Edith Smith.
Memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church, Elsie, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
