Stanley Boog

Stanley Paul Boog age 86, of Flint, MI, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his home.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.

Stanley was born in Bannister, MI on August 4, 1930, the son of Ernest and Elsie (Anderson) Boog.  Stan graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1948.  After graduation, he began working at Buick.  Stan served his country from 1950 to 1953 in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He then returned to Buick as a skilled tradesman and retired in 1985.  He was a proud member of UAW Local 599.

In his retirement, Stan volunteered countless hours at the North End Soup Kitchen, the Eastern Michigan Food Bank and St. Vincent DePaul Charities.  He followed his interests building model ships, and golfing in two weekly leagues until this year.  Stan will be missed by his many friends at Tom's Coney Cafe and Southmoor Golf Course and dear friends Harold and Cathy Burton.

Stanley is survived by son Eric Boog of Flint, daughters; Renee Morlan of Palm Bay, FL, and Patricia Manzo of Flint, brother Michael (Margie) Boog of Fowler, and sister Betty Martin of Mason.  Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, son Stanley, and siblings; Ernest Boog Jr., Robert Boog, Dale Boog, Carl Boog, Harold Boog and Doris Boog.
