Stanley Hunt

Stanley Charles Hunt, age 79, of Owosso, MI took his last breath here on earth and his first breath in heaven on Friday, January 13th, 2012 at Memorial Healthcare.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Thursday, January 19th at 10:00 A.M., Bishop Fred Brown & Mr. Wally Powell will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held 2-8 pm Wednesday with the family present 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Stanley was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 14, 1932, the son of Sterns and Ella Mae (Sexton) Hunt. On September 19, 1953 he married Lela Marie Cummings.

Stanley retired in 1991 from General Motors after 30 years of service and received an award for perfect attendance. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Owosso. Stanley was very kind hearted and contributed to many groups and organizations throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lela Hunt of Owosso, MI; son Dennis and Lana Hunt of Corunna, MI; daughter Debra and Gary Gage of Owosso, MI; daughter Tamara Marble of Corunna, MI; son Ralph Hunt of Owosso, MI; daughter Elisabeth "Lisa" and John Freeman of Owosso, MI; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a sister Eleanor Morningstar of Ocala, FL.

In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Freeman, a sister, Ruth Rowell and a son-in-law, William Marble, Jr.

Memorials may be made to Salvation Army or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
