Stanley W. Vinton age 90 of St. Louis, Michigan died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Pine River Healthcare Center, St. Louis, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, Michigan on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Keith Wise & Pastor Phil Smith will officiate and burial will take place at Salt River Cemetery, Shepherd, Michigan. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, 2005 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
Stanley was born in Jackson, Michigan on March 31, 1915 the son of Richard & Julie ( Larson ) Vinton. He graduated from Shepherd High School with the class of 1933 and resided most of his life in Greendale Township, Michigan.
He married Barbara Brady at the Coe Church of Christ on January 1, 1987 and was a lifelong farmer in Midland County, he loved to hunt & fish. Stanley was a member of St. Louis Church of Christ and was baptized at Coe Church of Christ and was a member there for many years. He was a delegate to the Republican Party and a State Committeeman and was the Jasper Township Clerk for several years.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Vinton of St. Louis, Michigan, 2 sons, Richard & Eva Vinton of Niya, Missouri, Zane & Barbara Vinton of Manistique, Michigan, 3 step-children, Sandra & Bill Allen of Alma, Michigan, Carolyn & Phil Stahl of Roscommon, Michigan, Kevan & Karen Stahl of Rockford, Michigan, 6 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 16 great grandchild and 5 step great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Florine Bigelow, of Sanford, Michigan, Arlene Jacobs of Shepherd, Michigan, Janet & Tom Becthel of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, 1 brother, Sharron & Mary Vinton of Burton, Michigan, sister in laws, Marilyn Vinton of Flint, Michigan, Pat Vinton, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Bonnie & Ted Cline, of St. Louis, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Ilah on July 3, 1986, siblings, Ellen, Eileen, Harley, Lee & Kenneth, 2 brother in laws, Harrison & Charles.
