Stephen Masley

Stephen J. Masley age 83 of St. Louis, Michigan died Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Masonic Pathways Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Lay Speaker Eric Johnson will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 9-11 A.M. prior to the service.

Stephen was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 9, 1923 the son of Stephen John and Agnes Rose ( Koli ) Masley. He resided most of his life in the Detroit Area until moving to St. Louis 2 years ago. He graduated from Southwestern High School in Detroit with the class of 1941. Stephen married Velia Costa on December 2, 1972 in Lincoln Park, Michigan. She died on October 20, 2005. Stephen retired from Ford Motor Company in 1988. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, and he liked to read. In the past he enjoyed golfing, and bowling.

He is survived by stepdaughter Linda & Eric Johnson of St. Louis, MI, 5 grandchildren; Jeremy & Benjamin Johnson, Gina, Ciana, & Angela DeBernardo, special nephew Jerry & Mary Masley of Riverview, MI, and many other nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as 2 sisters-in-law Verna Masley, & Mert Masley. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, stepson Larry DeBernardo, and 2 brothers John and Tom.

Memorials may be made to Theodore Austin Cutler Memorial Library. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
