Stephen Bervia "Butch" Smith, age 71, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019, at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, Lansing, MI.

A Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2:00 P.M.

Stephen was born in Charlotte, MI on April 2, 1948 the son of Bervia Arland and Mildred Irene (Jolley) Smith.  Butch married Debbie on March 26, 2004.  Butch resided most of his life in St. Johns and Florida.

Butch served his country in the U.S. Army.  He loved to ride motorcycles and was an old car enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Smith of St. Johns, MI; son Troy Smith of Fox Lake, IL; son Todd and Sandy Smith of Plainfield, IL; daughter Theresa and Brett Legler of Phoenix, AZ; and 7 grandchildren: Kelsie, Nicholas, Sarah, Ryan, Madison, Troy Jr. and Konner. Butch was preceded by his parents and his sister Yvonne Denherder.
