Steven Michael Moffit, Jr. March 21, 1987 –October 12, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve on October 12, 2023. He left this world too soon, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Steve was born on March 21, 1987, to Steven Michael Moffitt Sr., and Cindy Lou Lorencz-Moffit in Owosso, MI. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. His presence brought joy and warmth to the lives of many.
He touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was known or his passion of the Detroit Red Wings and football. He could often be found cheering for his teams with dedication. He had an insatiable love for sports and shared his enthusiasm with everyone around him. He was an avid angler and hunter, finding solace in the great outdoors. His love for fishing and hunting led to unforgettable moments with friends and family, where he often found peace and connection with the natural world.
Steve was also an avid podcast listener, always eager to engage in intellectual conversations with others. His inquisitive mind and thought-provoking discussions enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to converse with him.
Steve also had a deep affection for his loyal canine companion, Charlie. Together they shared countless adventures, making memories that forever held a special place in his heart. Anyone who knew Steve knew Charlie. Above all, he cherished his role as a loving father to his daughter Peyton. His love for her was immeasurable and their bond was a source of endless joy and pride.
He is survived by his parents Cindy Lorencz-Moffit and Steve and Shelly Moffit; his daughter Peyton Moffit; siblings: Nicole Moffit (Michael Muchow), Shelby Sperling (Scott), and Cole Farrier; his grandparents: Patricia White, John and Diane Lorencz, and Carol Hensley (Allen Ewing). He also leaves behind his best friend and partner Dixie Leadford, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
The loss of Steve leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those who loved him. He may be gone from our sight, but never will be gone from our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
